Call Me Cadet

The education environment in Devgad College has seen the introduction of some remarkable initiatives that have been thoughtfully put in place to give its students an opportunity to comprehend and experience career building. One such initiative -Call me CADET, has been introduced with the objective of mentoring to choose students who wish to live a life less ordinary.

As an educational institution that deals with moulding minds of thousands of students we understand that the youth today is idealistic. They want their lives to have greater meaning than just earning money. They want to leave their mark in this world, to do something above average and unique. Joining the Armed Forces provides them the opportunity to serve the nation like no other profession. Providing service to the nation by dedicating one’s life to it elevates the person to the status of a national hero. This is truly a noble cause worth dying for. For the passionate and honest youth, there can be no better career option than the Indian Armed Forces.

While serving the country may be the prime motive behind joining Armed Forces, the benefits that are associated with this profession has made armed forces a numerous career option.

We believe that youth if steered the right way can build the determination from within to make a career in the Armed Forces under the flagship of ‘Call me CADET’. Devgad College runs a campaign called “Do you have it in you?” to encourage young aspiring students to come forward and join the Indian Armed Forces. To get the right expertise on board and to strengthen the foundation of this program, the college has partnered with ‘Colonel’s Academy’, a reputed preparatory institute established under the leadership of Colonel Jayawantrao Patankar (Retd.) gazette Indian Army Officer.

Through the campaign in its first year, Devgad College successfully identified ten students who ‘had it in them’ to come forward to enroll for a 10 day preparatory program at Colonel’s Academy. The program gave them all a sneak peek into the level of mental and physical preparation, required to prepare for joining the Armed Forces. The students were exhilarated with the experience and returned more determined than ever to carry the Armed Forces ranks on their shoulders
