Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN (UBA)
About the Programme:
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship initiative aimed at bringing transformative change to rural development by leveraging the expertise of knowledge institutions. The programme seeks to bridge the gap between rural communities and academia by providing sustainable, technology-based solutions for village development. It motivates higher educational institutions to play a proactive role in the comprehensive growth of rural India.
UBA strives to create an inclusive nation by aligning academic and research programmes with societal needs. By building strong coordination between educational institutions, government agencies, and local communities, the programme focuses on adopting villages and promoting holistic growth using local resources and sustainable technologies. Furthermore, it encourages faculty and students to address real-life rural challenges, applying innovative, need-based solutions while supporting the effective implementation of government schemes.
Since the academic year 2018–2019, Devgad College has been an active participant in this mission. Under the UBA framework, the college has adopted five villages: Mithmumbari, Kunkeshwar, Tirlot, Aare, and Salashi.
