      The Department of Marathi offers a comprehensive undergraduate programme leading to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Marathi. The course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in Marathi language, literature, and cultural studies, enabling them to understand the rich literary heritage and contemporary relevance of Marathi.

The programme emphasizes language proficiency, literary appreciation, and creative as well as critical thinking skills through the systematic study of classical and modern Marathi literature, linguistics, and communication.

It incorporates theoretical learning along with practical exposure such as seminars, project work, presentations, group discussions, creative writing, and literary activities, enabling students to connect literary knowledge with real-world communication and cultural expression.

The curriculum introduces students to Marathi linguistics, literary criticism, research methodology, translation studies, and media writing, helping them develop the ability to analyze texts, interpret literary movements, and produce structured and effective writing.
