The Department of Environmental Science offers a postgraduate programme leading to the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Environmental Science. The programme is designed to provide advanced knowledge of environmental systems, sustainability, biodiversity conservation, pollution control, and climate change studies.
The programme emphasizes environmental awareness, analytical skills, research aptitude, and scientific understanding through the systematic study of ecology, environmental chemistry, environmental management, and sustainable development practices.
It integrates theoretical learning with practical and field-based exposure through laboratory work, environmental monitoring, field surveys, project work, seminars, and research-based assignments, enabling students to understand real-world environmental challenges.
The curriculum introduces students to Ecology, Environmental Pollution, Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Laws, GIS & Remote Sensing, and Sustainable Development, helping them develop expertise in environmental science.
Throughout the programme, students are encouraged to develop research skills, environmental problem-solving ability, scientific reporting, teamwork, and field analysis skills, preparing them for careers in environmental management, research organizations, NGOs, and government sectors.
Programme Highlights:
• Advanced Study in Environmental Science & Sustainability
• Field Work, Environmental Surveys & Data Analysis
• Laboratory Training & Research Projects
• Exposure to GIS, Remote Sensing & Environmental Monitoring
• Seminars, Workshops & Research-Based Learning
