- Amit is an Advocate at the Mumbai High Court and a Solicitor of Supreme Court of England & Wales. His area of practice and expertise is Intellectual Property Laws, contentious and non-contentious.
- Amit has publications to his credit in the European Intellectual Property Review (Sweet & Maxwell)and Communications Law Journal on complex legal issues in the area of Intellectual Property Laws. He is a Referee for the Journal of Intellectual Property Rights published by the National Institute of Science Communication & Information Resources. His articles and comments on intellectual property issues published in international journals and in in-house journals are the subject matter of scholarly discussions.
- He has been an adjunct faculty member at the Institute for Intellectual Property Studies (IIPS), Mumbai, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, the Creative Future School, and Government Law College, Mumbai.
- Amit is an Alumnus of the prestigious International Visitors’ Leadership Program 2008, sponsored by the Department of State, United States of America. He was also nominated by the US Embassy for the Yale World Fellowship in the year 2009. He graduated in Rural Development and thereafter in Law from the University of Mumbai, India. He completed his Masters in Law from Cardiff University, U.K., in the year 2001 and is currently pursuing Ph.D. from the University of Leicester, U. K. in Intellectual Property Law. He is a board member of the British Scholars Association.
- Sailing and fishing are his passions. He has sailed on the East and West coast of India and in the Mediterranean Sea.
