Internal Complaint Committee
The institution has formed an Internal Complaint Committee which is constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (‘Act’) and the University Grant Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employee and Students in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2015 (‘Regulations’). Our institution has also adopted zero tolerance policy towards any gender bias and sexual harassment of any kind.
The ICC conducts its surveillance in the Institution on the issues within its jurisdiction. The meeting of the ICC is held on 10th of every month. The ICC coordinates its activities with the College Women Development Cell (CWDC), which is constituted under the Directives of the University of Mumbai.
The ICC regularly conducts seminars and awareness programs, workshops and seminars on Sexual Harassment and accepts complaints on the issue. All the students are briefed about the constitution of the ICC and its members are introduced to the students at the begging of each academic year and at the begging of the second semester. The admission kit provided to the students’ contents all the information about the Act and the Regulation as well as the contact details of all the members. All students are compulsorily required to attend all the events of ICC and CWDC throughout the academic year. The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and Rules,Regulations governing the issue are available in physical form at the common rooms, administrative building, library, reading room, gymkhana building, hostels and laboratories.
